Watch for the Bills to Get Splashy at #10

Just about every mock draft I’ve seen so far (and trust me there’s been a lot of them) has the Buffalo Bills selecting a Left Tackle with the 10th overall choice in this years draft (some have them going linebacker) and while that’s a perfectly sensible choice that fills a major need there is another, flashier way to go: Wide¬†Receiver. Stevie Johnson needs company and the Bills corps is suspect at best, and following an impressive pro day Michael Floyd started conversations about whether he may actually be better than Justin Blackmon, who is slotted to go either to Cleveland at No. 4 or St. Louis at No. 6. And with the 9th pick in the second round they could still be in position to draft a LT capable of starting right out of the gate.

Another scenario I’ve been mulling and I’ll throw in here is, what if Ryan Tannehill doesn’t go to the Dolphins in the 8 spot and is still on the board when it’s Buffalo’s turn? I know they’ve sunk a lot of money into Ryan Fitzpatrick, and he played at a high level to begin the season before fizzling out, but the Bills have a lot of young talent and Fitzpatrick is 29…which is certainly not ancient for a guy who’s spent most of his career as a back up, but Tannehill could be too good a prospect to pass on if he does happen to fall into the Bills laps.
